Popular community and events platform Meetup was open to attacks that could result in data loss and, ultimately, financial theft.

The discovery of “serious cross-site scripting (XSS) and cross-site request forgery (CSRF) vulnerabilities” that were of most concern. Of concern as the team demonstrated, these security issues could not only lead to data theft but, ultimately, monetary loss.
