HMRC Warns Thousands Of Students At 16 Universities About Non-Existent Tax Rebate

Thousands of students at 16 universities across the UK have been warned about fake rebates after HMRC uncovers mass scam

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), has warned that students are being specifically targeted by tax refund scammers. It appears that HMRC has received thousands of reports of phishing emails in recent weeks, in what is thought to be the first time students have been directly targeted in this way and in such large numbers.
