Smart guns could cut US deaths

Posted on November 16, 2017November 16, 2017 By Davey Winder 6 Comments on Smart guns could cut US deaths

What exactly are smart firearms and what hope can they bring to the increasingly desperate gun-crime problem within the US?

While mass shootings understandably grab the media headlines, the problem of gun-related deaths runs far deeper in America. According to Politifact, which fact-checks statements made in the media, as of October 2017 there had been 1,396,733 American deaths on the field of battle since the Revolutionary War started in 1775. The same research reveals that since 1963, when Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, there had been 1,516,863 gun-related deaths on US soil up until 2015.

What a misleading piece of snowflake agenda pushing propoganda. You start by using statistics of mass shootings by deranged individuals that has nothing to do with the gun ownership debate, and nothing to do with smart guns as you then admit. The whole thing goes downhill from there. If you cannot research your subject properly then leave it to the grownups. Where was the comments from law enforcement and the NRA?

Fake news. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

Can I buck the trend and say that not only did I enjoy reading the full article, I actually think that smart/smarter firearms are the way forwards to reduce the unacceptable death toll.
